Our facilities
Equipped with all conveniences
You can find the entrance to RiF010 at Vlasmarkt. Below the shop and the Restaurant & Surfbar, there are changing rooms, showers, and lockers. Arrive at least 45 mins before your session starts so you have enough time to change, wax your board, join our safety breefing and hang out like a surfer dude or dudette.
Frequently asked questions
How many waves can I surf per session?
Even if your session or surf class is completely full, you can surf approximately 11 to 13 waves per session.
How does it work during a surf session?
After the mandatory safety briefing, you enter the water at the beach side called De Baai. From there, you paddle to the Rif and the take-off zone. A line-up forms there. You wait here until it’s your turn for your wave. We generate a new wave every 7 seconds, so you’ll always have your turn quickly again. After riding out the wave, you paddle back to the take-off zone. At the end of the session, you leave the surf pool again at the beach side of the pool.
Is the surf pool heated?
No, the water is not heated. But don’t worry, with the right wetsuit, you can surf at RiF010 all year round. We also have gloves, caps and boots for the colder days.
Is the water clean?
Certainly, the water in the RiF is natural swimming water and is kept clean by a powerful filter.
How long does it take to learn to surf?
The best thing about surfing might be that you never stop learning, not even the pros. If you want to know when you can move to the next level, you can ask your instructor for advice.
